Ford and Amazon Now To Offer In-Car Delivery Service

When placing an order for delivery, it’s important to know when and how it will be delivered. Will you be at home or at work at the time of delivery? Do you need to sign for it? Will it be left outside if you aren’t home? Can it fit in your mailbox? These worries can build up and Ford wants to make sure you don’t have to worry anymore.

Ford Motor Company is partnering with Amazon to provide peace of mind when it comes to your online deliveries from Amazon. The Key by Amazon In-Car delivery service is the result of Amazon and Ford working together to protect your packages and make the process as smooth as possible.

This new service allows Amazon deliveries to be brought directly to and placed inside of your vehicle. Designated delivery specialists will be able to unlock your vehicle, notifying you through the app. You’ll also receive a confirmation when the delivery is complete and your vehicle has been relocked for your peace of mind.

Ford vehicles from 2017 and later equipped with FordPass Connect and Lincoln 2018 and later models with Lincoln Connect will be able to utilize this feature. By connecting their FordPass or Lincoln Way apps to their Amazon Prime accounts, users will be able to monitor and manage their deliveries. From a notification right before the package is delivered, to confirmation that it is complete, your app will keep you in the loop.

This new feature is not the only new service that will be available through Ford connected vehicles. In the future, more will be available like straight-to-your-vehicle eco-friendly car washes, and more. Ford continues to push service offerings for driver convenience every day. Keep an eye out for more features to be announced in the future!
