Though we at Garnet Ford have encountered our fair share of head-turning utility vehicles over the years, we've admittedly never met one quite like the 2016 Ford Flex. An amalgam of a wagon and an SUV, this full-size crossover is not one for playing by the rules of others.
What it is for, however, is delivering an altogether incomparable driving experience. We think that much will be readily evident throughout the clip below, a video review of the Flex from Autotrader critic, Jabari Jones. Have a look and listen right here:
No doubt about it, the Flex's entry-level drivetrain -- a 3.5-liter V6 -- is an absolute delight. Synced to a six-speed automatic gearbox, this six-banger generates a hearty 287 horsepower and 254 pound-feet of torque.
And it's certainly no slouch on the fuel economy front, either. When had in front-drive form, for instance, the base V6 returns a respectable 19 mpg combined (16 city/23 highway).
