When you go mining, sometimes, you can strike gold. That’s exactly what happened when the Ford brand decided to introduce the Ford F-150 Lightning. The fully-electric pickup has exceeded expectations for the Ford brand. That has led to an increase in units produced for 2022. The most popular pickup is primed to become the highest-selling electric pickup. Ford has done it again.
High-Demand Prompts Increase
Ford Motor Company doubled its goal for manufacturing the F-150 Lightning. The automaker now plans to produce 150,000 units a year. The high demand drives that number by truck lovers across the nation. To date, about 200,000 reservations have been placed for one of the Ford F-150 Lightning pickups. Orders for the vehicle will commence by January 6th.
The starting price of the fully electric F-150 is just south of $40,000 before potential tax credits are applied. With a normal driving range of between 230 and 300 miles and a towing capacity of 10,000 lbs., efficiency is just a part of the game with the F-150 Lightning. But, there are many other reasons to climb into an F-150 Lightning, and most of them lie in money-saving potential, comfort, and performance potential. The way of the future is electric—and Ford is ahead of the game.
